Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu’s career showcases a near perfect blend of a seasoned politician with over two decades as an administrator, and as a passionate entrepreneur who has led businesses, including one of the largest cooperative banks, to heights of profitability from a very young age. Utilizing his expertise in finance, across budgeting, accounting and auditing, he has championed the asks of the public and private sectors alike. He has been and continues to be associated with a plethora of banks, government and non-government organizations.

He has made strategic thinking a part of public policy development and implementation and has also mainstreamed the philosophy of sustainable development. His policies have focused on a wide range of subjects like water, renewables, rural development, transportation etc. A master in political economy, owed to his diversified experience spanning decades, has made him a distinguished expert in all aspects of global affairs.

He has held various cabinet portfolios. Known for his out of box thinking, he has scripted various reforms and effected organizational transformations.

Currently he is Prime Minister’s Sherpa to G 7 and G 20 2019. An Official emissary of the Prime Minister of India in the G7 & G20 forum; preparing the official agenda of the Government of India on key issues for G7 & G20 Summit. He is the former Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Government of India 2017 — 2019.
